Important Update for Church in the Park — May 2, 2026
Due to colder-than-expected morning temperatures — with the 40s during Sabbath School and only reaching the low 60s later in the day — we are adjusting our plans for Church in the Park.
Sabbath School (9:45 AM) and the Worship Service (11:00 AM) will now be held at the church building.
We will have a casual service, and we encourage everyone to dress warmly and casually so you can head straight to the park afterward.
We will still gather at the Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP Pavilion in Beckley Creek Park for potluck lunch at 12:30 PM and all afternoon fellowship and activities as planned. Paper products will be provided.
Please bring a dish to share, lawn chairs or blankets, water bottles, and a jacket or layers for the cooler weather. We look forward to spending the afternoon together in the beauty of God’s creation.
We’re excited to invite you to our annual outdoor church service and picnic potluck at beautiful Beckley Creek Park on Sabbath, May 2, beginning at 9:45 AM. This is always one of our favorite days of the year — worship, fellowship, food, and time together in God’s creation.
We’ll be meeting at the Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP Pavilion, located near the Egg Lawn, Visitor’s Center, and playground.
Here’s the plan for the day:
- 9:45 AM — Sabbath Schools for all ages
- 11:00 AM — Outdoor Worship Service
- Potluck Lunch to follow (paper products provided)
- Afternoon fellowship in the park — stay, relax, and enjoy the day together
What to bring:
- Lawn chairs or picnic blankets
- Water bottles
- A dish (or two!) to share for potluck
- Sunscreen, hats, or anything else you’d like for a day outdoors
Please note: There will be no services held at the church building on this Sabbath.
